A Homeless Man Won Half A Million Dollars Playing The Lottery! Find Out What He Plans To Do With It

Michael Engfors has been homeless for the past six years. He ended up out on the street after struggling with alcoholism, going through a tough divorce, and losing his business.

But now, it looks like all of that could completely change!
On Friday, the 60-year-old’s routine of buying scratch tickets finally paid off… literally! The Colorado resident reportedly realized he had won $500,000 dollars as soon as he scratched the first number!
Then on Monday, the director of the Aspen Homeless Shelter brought him to the Grand Junction lottery office so he could claim his half-million dollar prize!
According to the Colorado Lottery, the odds of claiming the top prize in the “Eternal Splendor” game are 840,000 to 1! Amazing!
Michael had bought the winning $10 ticket at a local gas station, but the clerk explained that he usually never won more than two dollars at a time.
Shelter employee Jeremy Kowalis says that he’s incredibly happy regarding the man’s good luck, saying:
“It’s such a great story. It’s really inspired so many people, because out of all of the people, especially in Aspen, Colorado, that could win half a million dollars, it couldn’t happen to a better type of person than somebody who actually uses the homeless shelter.”
He explained that Michael never stopped believing, even after all the tough times he’s gone through, adding:
“Michael has seen a bottom that has pushed him right to the edge. But Michael never gave up. He knew that if he kept pushing on, eventually his luck would change.”
Jeremy said the lucky guy plans on using his money to buy some skis and reconnect with his daughter, who he hasn’t seen in more than 20 years.
Congratulations, Michael!
