Dasuki Has Started Confessing Names Of Ex-governors In Alleged $2bn Fraud

According to reports, former National Security Adviser (NSA),Sambo Dasuki has begun to make revelations about the alleged$2billion arms deal fraud.

Dasuki is said to have named various persons who allegedly participated in the fraud including former governors, ex-ministers and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Nation reports.

The former NSA was arrested by theDepartment of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 and handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) the next day.

“When Dasuki was brought in, he initially refused to write any statement, alleging that he had been subjected to media trial,” an EFCC source told The Nation.

“The EFCC operatives, however, obliged Dasuki a copy of the statement by a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Shuaibu Salisu in which the latter made some implicating statements.

“Dasuki, who was shocked by Salisu’s confessions, repeatedly asked: ‘You mean Salisu wrote all these! You mean he said these! Give me a pen and paper’.

“Thereafter, Dasuki decided to open a can of worms. He gave a long list of PDP chieftains who collected money from the Office of the NSA. He mentioned the names of a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, ex-governors and ex-ministers and many others.

“As I am talking to you, Dasuki is still writing his statement. The disclosures of the ex-Director of Finance in NSA have assisted greatly in getting to the bottom of the armsgate.

“So, the investigation is still on. We will certainly arrest more suspects soon,” the source added.

President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the arrest of Dasuki and others indicted in the alleged fraud after receiving a report submitted by a panel instituted by him to probe Nigeria’s arms purchases from 2007-2015.

The former NSA has been in the eye of the storm since being removed by Buhari in July.

His homes in Sokoto and Abuja were raided by agents of the DSS and he was subsequently charged with money laundering and illegal possession of weapons.

The EFCC has also arrested 20 of Dasuki’s former staff, Chairman of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Raymond Dokpesi and former Sokoto State Governor,Attahiru Bafarawain connection with the allegations.
